Cleaning and Maintenance Services
Let us help you with your water feature to ensure it looks clean, clear, and continues to function properly.
Water Feature Clean outs
Even a properly built water feature benefits from a total clean out every year. Similar to maintaining a fish tank, an extensive clean and water change is beneficial to the health of the living organisms and the clarity of the water. A clean out for your fountain, pondless waterfall, or pond will include the following steps:
• Draining feature and placing any fish in a holding tank.
• Pressure washing rocks and gravel to remove any built up waste stain.
• Rinsing all areas of the feature down while removing debris such as leaves.
• Cleaning all biological filters and trimming aquatic plants for the winter.
• Re-build any areas of the feature that may have been disturbed to ensure liner is protected.
• Ensure proper function of lights and any other mechanical/electrical components.
• Fertilize potted aquatic plants (spring time).
• Begin re-filling the feature while adding all necessary Aquascape products to restart the ecosystem.
• Re-introduce the fish to the feature by slowly climatizing them to new water temperatures.
Re-Occurring Maintenance Visits
Life gets busy…let us help you out with your water feature maintenance so all you have to do is just relax and enjoy it. Depending on the feature and your preference, we can do weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly visits. Each visit includes:
• Remove/skim any debris from the feature before they breakdown and upset the balance of the ecosystem.
• Trim aquatic plants of any dead parts to improve optimal plant health.
• Remove any excessive build-up of algae growth.
• Clean out pond skimmers or intake bays.
• Add beneficial bacteria and other natural Aquascape products to help with water clarity, fish health, and keeping rocks/gravel clean.
• Ensure proper function of lights and any other mechanical/electrical components.
• Especially Ion-Gen algae fighters and Automatic Dosing Systems.
